Last few weeks have mostly been more vibe-coding and homelabbing. I'll get some more photos up soon hopefully too.
Vibing
1 new app this week, and multiple updates for other apps.
- New app "Shelf" replaces Homarr in my homelab stack because I found myself fighting with layouts and features more than I'd like. So of course, I just vibed this up over the weekend. View it here
- Some updates to Fold and xaero-sync were shipped, nothing really exciting.
- Fold fixed a CLI conflict with another tool, now the cli is
fold-cliinstead of justfold. - xaero-sync added a notification message to tell people who connect that it exists and can be used to sync waypoints and where to get it.
- Fold fixed a CLI conflict with another tool, now the cli is
Homelabbing
- I'm now using Codex to vibe up homelab organisation and management tooling. Specifically ansible playbooks. I always hated putting these together because the amount of reading and trial and error I'd have to go through to get these to run the way I want was painful. Codex just does it.
- I've moved to Dockhand for managing my docker stacks across my various docker-enabled VMs (I have 6 now!). I'm still treating my appliance servers like pets over cattle, it's more fun that way. Dockhand is a good middleground; define your stacks in git, sync them to your hosts when you need to.
- Picked up a new beefier server, the i7-8700s in my Lenovo Tiny P330s were really struggling under my AI agents load. The new machine was an absolute bargain from my favourite second-hand refurb shop. See the specs on /uses. This one blasts through most AI dev I'm doing and has enough oomph to host a Create Mod Minecraft server for myself and a couple mates.
